Sustainable Development Goals and Gender in Kyrgyzstan

The purpose of this publication is to highlight the current state of progress towards gender equality and sustainable development and gender equality in Kyrgyzstan for informed political and managerial decisions as part of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the empowerment of women and girls.

The publication uses official and departmental statistics as well as the results of 2014 and 2018 Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS) to provide an analysis of available indicators disaggregated by sex, age, education and income level, and location. The data cover the five-year period from the adoption of the SDGs through the end of 2021. In some cases, the analysis of long-term trends uses statistical data from 2010.

This publication was prepared by the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia within the Women Count regional programme to improve gender data and statistics.
