Minimum set of gender equality and women’s empowerment indicators (Zanzibar)
The Zanzibar Minimum Set of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Indicators (Z-GEWEIs) has been developed by the Office of the Chief Government Statistician in collaboration with Zanzibar Planning Commission under the support of UN Women as part of the Women Count programme.
The purpose of developing the Z-GEWEIs is to ensure the mainstreaming of gender statistics in Zanzibar and facilitate reporting on the Zanzibar Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty (ZSGRP or MKUZA), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other international commitments such as CEDAW and BPfA.
