At the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), UN Women together with the Office of the COP28 President, UN High-Level Champion for Climate Change, UNFCCC, IUCN and WEDO, convened Counting on a sustainable future: A global conference on gender and environment data.
The conference was an opportunity to exchange best practices, share lessons learned and discuss solutions to common challenges around the production and use of gender and environment data to inform policies, advocacy and improve monitoring of global, regional, and national climate and environment commitments.
An outcome of the conference is a Global Call to Action that calls on world leaders, policy-makers and key actors in the data system to produce and use gender-environment data to drive progress on gender-responsive climate and environment commitments.
