2020 Economic Survey of Kenya now includes chapter on gender equality

On 28 April, Kenya's National Bureau of Statistics released its 2020 Kenya Economic Survey, which included, for the first time, a chapter on gender equality and women’s empowerment. The chapter was a result of multi-sectoral collaboration, and was developed with the support of UN Women.
On the occasion of the release of the Economic Survey, Anna Mutavati, UN Women Kenya Country Representative, issued an op-ed in the Daily Nation, Kenya's largest newspaper, on 1 May, International Labour Day.
