Brief Description
In 2004, the Danish Government introduced article 109 of the Danish Act of Social Service, which obligates municipalities to provide temporary accommodation facilities for woman who have been exposed to violence, threats of violence or a corresponding crisis in relation to family or cohabitation relationship. The woman may be accompanied by children and will receive care and support during their stay. There are currently 45 shelters/temporary accommodations for women who have been exposed to violence.
