Brief Description
Following the adoption of the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking Act in 2008 the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security - the focal agency coordinating anti-trafficking efforts - Thai immigration officers, particularly those who would come into contact with possible victims of trafficking among migrant populations, have benefited from training and an increased awareness in how to identify and assist trafficked victims, not to mention have been educated on the legal protections that trafficked victims are entitled to under the law.
