Brief Description

Section 53 of Thailand’s Labor Protection Act (No. 7) B.E. 2562 (2019) promotes gender equality in the workplace by requiring employers to provide equal pay for equal work, regardless of gender. The Act also introduces protections for female workers, including a prohibition on terminating pregnant employees and a ban on harassment or sexual misconduct by employers, supervisors, foremen, or inspectors. In addition to promoting decent work, the legislation establishes safeguards against gender-based discrimination and violence in employment settings.
