The Convention on the Elimination of Violence and Harassment in the World of Work, 2019 (No. 190) establishes comprehensive protections for all individuals engaged in the world of work including employees, employers, trainees, dismissed workers, volunteers, and job seekers against violence and harassment in physical, psychological, sexual, and economic forms. The Convention’s scope goes beyond the traditional workplace, covering violence that occurs in employer-provided accommodation, during commutes, and through work-related communication channels. As such, it offers broader protection than general labor laws and provides a strong international framework for addressing violence and harassment in all aspects of working life.
