Brief Description
In 2010, the Government commissioned a study to evaluate the implementation status of the Act of 1999 prohibiting female genital mutilation/cutting. It highlighted the need for a new plan to hasten the end of female genital mutilation and generate awareness among the communities still practicing it, with a view to totally eradicating it by 2015.
