Brief Description

Shelter homes for gender-based violence (GBV) victims have been established in all Divisional Headquarters across Pakistan’s provinces, each with the capacity to accommodate a minimum of 35 to 50 women. These shelters provide support for women who are victims of various forms of violence, including domestic abuse, physical and psychological harm, rape, harmful traditional practices such as 'vanni' and 'sawara', forced marriages, emotional and economic abuse. Women with children who are also victims of violence are accommodated. Legal aid was provided to 29,745 women and their children, and medical services were provided to 44,884 women and their children through shelter and protection centers.
