Brief Description
The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development (FMWASD) was established by Decree No. 30 of 1989. The broad mandate of the Ministry is to advise the Government on gender and children issues and issues affecting persons with disabilities and the elderlies. The Ministry also initiates policy guidelines and leads the process of ensuring gender equality and mainstreaming at both the national and international levels.
