Brief Description

The objectives of this law are to protect the general public from sex offenders and prevent sex offenders from repeating their crimes. According to this law, certain restrictions may be imposed upon sex offenders following the completion of their sentence, upon their return to life in the community. This law, through several mechanisms, seeks to strike a balance between the restrictions that may limit sex offenders' freedom, and the level of threat they pose toward the general public.
