Brief Description
Maagan Shelter was created according to decision No. 2806 dated 1/12/2002 of the Government of Israel. It is a shelter where priority is given to the women who are willing to give testimonies against those who trafficked them. The shelter was opened on February, 15th 2004 and operates under the supervision of the Keshet organization (The Advancement of Social Rehabilitation Services). The shelter is financed by the Department of Social Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Social Welfare. The administration of the shelter is guided by the congress of ministries including the representatives of Ministry of Social Welfare, the Ministry of Security, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Law and Justice, the Ministry of Health, and the representatives of the Police Department of Israel and the representatives of the Keshet social organization.
