Brief Description
Psychosocial support structures have been integrated into 22 medical facilities in the east of the DRC to improve counselling for victims. The capacities of the medical facilities have been strengthened through the provision of materials and equipment, conveniences and post-rape kits, all of which have helped to improve the technical capacity of the facilities to provide high-quality care for victims of sexual violence. Victims of sexual violence (VVS) have benefited from STI treatment, emergency contraception to prevent unwanted pregnancies, pregnancy management and assisted childbirth. The government is continuing to set up one-stop centres offering holistic services.
