Brief Description
One study on violence against women, "the Detection and Analysis of the Prevalence of Family Violence in the Araucania Region," revealed the proportion of victims by area of residence: in urban areas, 45.4% of women declared that they had suffered some type of violence, while in rural areas the figure rose to 50.4%. 19.7% of urban women and 17.1% of rural women have experienced situations confined to psychological abuse. 25.7% of urban women and 33.3% of rural women have experienced physical or sexual violence, or both. This group has also suffered psychological abuse.
