The intervention of the Deaf Women's Center is executed by SERNAMEG and focuses on attending to and strengthening the autonomy of Deaf women in Chile who already face a panorama of double complexity in the different territories of the country, on the one hand, the invisibilization of the meaning of "deafness" and, on the other, the null or scarce universal access to information and even less to reparation processes. Although gender equality, as a legal notion, indicates that men and women are equal in rights and opportunities, the socialization process experienced by deaf women throughout their lives, often in situations of communicative isolation, places them in multiple relationships of asymmetry of deaf-hearing power, sign language-oral language, man-woman, which notoriously intensifies the complexities that deaf women go through, as this inequality is naturalized through stereotypes, prejudices and gender biases. In this sense, the project to address the problem in its real magnitude aims at two fundamental lines: • To contribute to reducing the main barriers to access, making visible the situation of discrimination in which deaf women who experience violence find themselves through the provision, in exceptional cases, of specialized care services in Chilean Sign Language. • Provide direct care and contribute to the recovery of the exercise of autonomy for victims and survivors of gender violence, through psycho-socio-educational and legal intervention in their own language or in the alternative means of communication that are feasible, generating networks with institutions and/or professionals trained in Chilean Sign Language. It is aimed at deaf women over 18 years of age who have been victims of gender violence. Exceptionally, the team of the Deaf Women's Center can carry out first reception and orientation to women and gender diversities over 15 years of age. However, in order to receive reparative care, they are referred to the agencies of the System of Guarantees and Comprehensive Protection of the Rights of Children and Adolescents.

La intervención del Centro de la Mujer Sorda es ejecutada por el SERNAMEG y se enfoca en atender y fortalecer la autonomía de las mujeres Sordas en Chile que ya enfrentan un panorama de doble complejidad en los distintos territorios del país, por un lado, la invisibilización del significado de la “sordedad” y, por otro, el nulo o escaso acceso universal a la información y menos aún a procesos de reparación. Si bien la igualdad de género, como noción jurídica, indica que los hombres y las mujeres son iguales en derechos y oportunidades, el proceso de socialización vivenciado por las mujeres sordas a lo largo de sus vidas, muchas veces en situaciones de aislamiento comunicativo, las sitúan en múltiples relaciones de asimetría de poder sordo-oyente, lengua de señas-lengua oral, hombre-mujer, lo que intensifica notoriamente las complejidades por las que atraviesan las mujeres sordas, pues esta desigualdad se naturaliza a través de estereotipos, prejuicios y sesgos de género. En este sentido, el proyecto para abordar el problema en su real magnitud apunta a dos líneas fundamentales: • Contribuir a disminuir las principales barreras de acceso, visibilizando la situación de discriminación en que se encuentran las mujeres sordas que viven violencia a través de la provisión, en casos excepcionales, de servicios especializados de atención en la Lengua de Señas Chilena. • Brindar atención directa y contribuir a la recuperación del ejercicio de la autonomía para víctimas y sobrevivientes de violencia de género, a través de la intervención psicosocioeducativa y jurídica en su propia lengua o en los medios alternativos de comunicación que resulten factibles, generando redes con instituciones y/o profesionales capacitados en Lengua de Señas Chilena. Está dirigido a mujeres sordas mayores de 18 años que hayan sido víctimas de violencia de género. De manera excepcional el equipo del Centro de las Mujeres Sorda puede realizar primera acogida y orientación a mujeres y diversidades sexo genéricas mayores de 15 años. No obstante, para recibir atención reparatoria, se las deriva a los organismos del Sistema de Garantías y Protección Integral de los Derechos de la Niñez y Adolescencia.
