Brief Description
In order to contribute to the year of Women's Empowerment and Development in Africa for the realisation of Agenda 2063, which coincides with the twentieth anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the Association for the Fight against Violence against Women (ALVF) in Cameroon commissioned an important study that mobilised several civil society actors to understand how the phenomenon of forced and early marriages is represented in Cameroon in 2014. The study, carried out in 2014 and published in 2015, is intended as a contribution to help the Cameroonian government put in place effective policies to strengthen its commitment to the rights and empowerment of Cameroonian women and to the principle of gender equality.
