Brief Description
The Gender-Based Violence Information Management System (GBVIMS) is managed by the Gender Directorate of Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) in Afghanistan. It contains definitions of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), which the Family Protection Centers (FPC) use to record cases. The GBVIMS was developed globally for use in humanitarian contexts and defines GBV in terms of six core types/ categories namely: a) rape; b) sexual assault; c) physical assault; d) forced marriage; and e) denial of resources, opportunities or services; and f) psychological/ emotional abuse.
