  • What is the GenTRACK Arab States?

    The GenTRACK Arab States is an analysis and visualization tool that brings together secondary data produced by credible institutions on a variety of topics pertaining to the situation of women and girls across Arab States. GenTRACK allows development specialists, researchers, decision makers, and the public to perform visual analysis on gender-related indicators via maps, charts, tables and more.


  • What indicator data does GenTRACK include?

    GenTRACK leverages 194 gender-related time-series indicators for 17 countries and territories over the period of 2000 - 2022, for four thematic areas and eight sub-themes.


  • Which countries does GenTRACK tracks?

    The platform reports on data from 17 countries from the Arab States Region, as per the UN Women’s coverage from its office in Cairo, Egypt that includes: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Emirates, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and Yemen, as well as regional and global average results.


  • Why do I trust GenTRACK indicators?

    The platform leverages Indicators from nine global and credible datasets and indices, which include the World Bank’s Doing Business, Global Findex, Global Financial Inclusion, and Women, Business and Law databases, the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, the World Economic Forum’s Gender Inequality Gap Report, the Women in Politics Database by the Inter Parliamentary Union, the Varieties of Democracy Index, the ILOSTATS database of the International Labor Organization, and others.
